Deep Space Exploration Society (DSES) Richard Hambly, Life Senior Member The Deep Space Exploration Society (DSES) is a Colorado-based 501(c)3 volunteer organization dedicated to radio astronomy, built around a restored 60-foot radio telescope on the eastern plains. Members observe and study pulsars and magnetars. They study galaxies by looking at the 21 cm hydrogen line and monitor the Sun and Jupiter. They extend this mission to monitoring manmade objects like NASA's Artemis-II and other deep space objects. DSES also supports Amateur Radio activities with its amateur radio station K0PRT. This includes Earth–Moon–Earth contacts and the ongoing Earth–Venus–Earth project. Scientists, Engineers, and others are welcome. The Denver chapter of the IEEE PES/IAS is the region’s foremost organization representing electrical and power engineers. Our mission is to further education and professional development; provide professional and social networking opportunities; and encourage student involvement in the industry through project funding, scholarships, and event subsidies. The annual PES/IAS golf tournament has become a fun-filled tradition that helps raise funds for activities that support the chapter’s mission. Join us for a IEEE Denver networking happy hour at Pindustry. The happy hour will run approximately from 5:30pm - 7:00pm, so come for all or part of the afternoon to spend some time getting to know others within the Denver community as a whole. All are welcome to join for this event, whether you have heard of IEEE, have been active in the past or present, or want to meet some other professionals. We look forward to a relaxed environment with no set agenda, where everyone can learn more about IEEE Denver and what we offer, how you can get involved, ask any informal questions, or just to spend time with one another. Presentation: Arrowheads and Circles: Building Self-Evaluating Loops in the Team and in the Product Abstract: As AI systems take on more real work, the hard problem shifts from producing output to knowing whether to trust it. Large Language Models (LLMs) made generation cheap; they did not make trust cheap. This talk is about building self-evaluating loops around AI, guided by one rule at two levels: no participant grades work it has a stake in. First in the team, in the engineering process, through review by a second model prompted to disprove the first, contracts that check the boundaries between components, and pipelines that allow only one source of truth for each piece of data. Then in the product, inside Orion, a collaborative AI analyst platform whose claims ship with automatic checks, tested against live data and replaced rather than quietly edited when they go stale. Real production results included, failures and all. Attendees leave with a one-afternoon audit they can run on their own systems: which feedback signals actually change what the system does, and which are just decoration.
