Reception at the CSU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
Reception at the CSU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes are found on the campuses of 125 colleges and universities from Maine to Hawaii and Alaska. Each provides a distinctive array of non-credit courses and activities specifically developed for seasoned adults aged 50 or older who are interested in learning for the joy of learning. The IEEE High Plains Section for a limited time, is contributing $10 toward any member that joins that Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSU. It has been said that engineers never stop engineering, or put another way, never stop learning. So many of us enjoy discovering new things and learning. This is your chance to be part of an organization that encourages learning late in life. Please join me that afternoon and learn more about this remarkable organization. Richard Toftness Secretary, High Plains section of IEEE Agenda: Meet at 4 to 5 pm light refreshments will be available 2545 Research Bvld, Fort Collins, Colorado, United States, 80526
CIR & CIS: Cybersecurity Engineering: Building robust architecture in a cyber-contested world
CIR & CIS: Cybersecurity Engineering: Building robust architecture in a cyber-contested world
Abstract: Recent news has published information on technology and infrastructure at risk for being compromised due to cyber-attacks. There are several instances in which these attacks have been successful and have resulted in great consequences. Integrating Cybersecurity into the engineering process will enable designs to be resilient against attacks and ensure that the technology can operate in an increasingly hostile environment. This presentation will share examples of these attacks, how to identify vulnerabilities in designs, and a process that engineers can integrate into their development cycle to include cybersecurity into their architecture. Speaker(s): Virginia Koday, Room: ECS 300, Bldg: University of Denver Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science, 2155 E Wesley Ave, Denver, Colorado, United States, 80208
IEEE Denver Dine & Learn: Applications of a $300 VNA for Useful Signal and Power Integrity Characterization
IEEE Denver Dine & Learn: Applications of a $300 VNA for Useful Signal and Power Integrity Characterization
Denver Section, Rocky Mountain Magnetics Chapter, and South Dakota School of Mines and Tech Student Branch would like to invite you to our Dine & Learn on Applications of a $300 VNA for Useful Signal and Power Integrity Characterization. Abstract: A vector network analyzer (VNA) is an essential tool to characterize interconnects. Most of us are familiar with units from Keysight or Rohde and Swartz that cost more than $50k. Is it really possible to get anything useful from one that costs just $300? The answer is yes. We use a low-cost VNA in our student labs, teaching Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) measurement processes. Professor Bogatin will show you two important applications of this VNA for extracting material properties and characterizing capacitors for Power Delivery Network (PDN) applications. Whether you are a student, a professional engineer, or a lifelong learner, a $300 VNA might be in your future. Food and beverages will be provided. Co-sponsored by: University of Colorado Boulder Speaker(s): Prof. Eric Bogatin Agenda: Agenda: - 6:00 - 6:30 PM Networking - 6:30 PM Welcome - 7:00 PM Introduce the Speaker - Presentation A parking code for lots 440, 319, 306 will be provided to attendees who register to attend this event: https://www.colorado.edu/map/?id=336#!ce/2739?ct/20989,20990,20991,20992,20993,20994,26118,2739?mc/40.00563459437513,-105.2595376968384?z/16?lvl/0 Room: ECCS 201 (Third Floor), Bldg: Rustandy Building - between the Engineering Building and the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder, 1111 Engineering Dr. , Boulder, Colorado, United States, 80309
