The Denver chapter of the IEEE PES/IAS is the region’s foremost organization representing electrical and power engineers. Our mission is to further education and professional development; provide professional and social networking opportunities; and encourage student involvement in the industry through project funding, scholarships, and event subsidies. The annual PES/IAS golf tournament has become a fun-filled tradition that helps raise funds for activities that support the chapter’s mission. Examples include: - Maintaining the $0 meeting and dinner fee for students - Providing funding to support organizations focused on promoting engineering to students - Maintaining low meeting and dinner fees for professionals - Hosting special events such as facility tours and networking happy hours REGISTRATION PACKAGES For this year, all registration packages (noted below) are offered with super early bird, early bird and final pricing options. Our intent with this pricing structure is to offer rates below 2024 pricing for those who wish to lock in their support for the event early. The cutoffs for each tier are: Super Early Bird (May 30) and Early Bird (July 18). Sponsorship opportunities are available for companies interested in having their name and logo in front of local Colorado engineers. Our sponsors are the lifeblood for the chapter and for IEEE, and allow us to continue providing education and networking opportunities for power engineers in the Denver area. This year we are offering more sponsorship opportunities to increase exposure of the organizations to the attendees. Below are the available sponsorships. Abstract The financial services industry is changing rapidly with the emergence of financial technology, better known as FinTech. The global fintech market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 23.58% from 2021 to 2025 (Research and Markets, 2020) and is projected to reach $26.5 trillion by 2022 (The Business Research Company, 2020). This presentation will provide a general overview of FinTech and the banking system, focusing on the accelerating growth of the payments sector, which is revolutionizing how we conduct business. As of 2024, there were over 3 billion global users in digital payments alone, with continued growth forecast through 2029, according to Statista.com.
